Several years ago, I was diagnosed with
Osteoporosis and Osteopenia (bone thinning) in my hips and spine.
My doctor prescribed a medication along with substantial does of
calcium.
While I showed gradual improvement over the next several years, it
was not until I began a more rigorous exercise program (including
weight training, cardio and walking) that I began to make substantial
progress in my overall bone health.
My most recent bone scan was performed in January 2010. It shows
no Osteoporosis at all and relatively insignificant Osteopenia. My
doctor stated that if this had been my first bone density test, he
would not need to recommend treatment the first time.
